CPRO-RENT ACHIEVES NEAR-PERFECT UPTIME OVER THE INTERNET

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - February 1, 2006 - Solutions by Computer, Inc., the North American market leader in rental business computerization, has reported that the company's CPRO-RENT product delivered 99% uptime to users in the fourth quarter of 2005. Performance is maintained by advanced networking hardware, firewalls, and redundant data lines that ensure continuity, according to Jack Shea, president.

Launched in 2003, CPRO-RENT is a software subscription that allows businesses to rent Solutions' flagship CounterPro® software over the Internet. A flexible CPRO-RENT fee structure tailors technology costs to peak months and off-peak months, and even seasonal closings. 

"With CPRO-RENT, the user's database actually resides on a Solutions server so that all you need at your place of business is a standard PC with Internet connection and terminal emulator," explains Shea. "There is still a degree of skepticism among business owners when it comes to the reliability of the Internet. However, our own results show how stable and advantageous ASP-type software rental can be, when the right infrastructure is put in place by the supplier." 

With CPRO-RENT, backups are done automatically by Solutions, with no software or hardware required at the place of business. "CPRO-RENT isn't for everyone," notes Shea. "We see it as a way to make leading edge software functionality affordable for small rental operations with limited transaction volumes." The company currently has more than 60 CPRO-RENT users accessing CounterPro over the Internet.
